AFCAT 2018 – Exam Date, Syllabus & Exam Pattern

Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) 2018 is conducted twice in a year. This exam is a great opportunity for the students who want to join in Air Force.

There are various categories of posts to apply such as

  • Flying
  • Ground Duty
  • Technical
  • and Non-technical.

These posts come under two different types of commission. Short Service Commission(SSC) and Permanent commission.

Candidates selected in Short Service Commission(SSC) can work up to 10+4 years maximum, and in Permanent commission, they can work till retirement.

The AFCAT 2018 dates will be announce soon once the official notification has been announced in 2018. We can expect the notification release date anywhere in December 2017 to January 2018 online.

Flying comes under SSC and Ground Duty- technical and non-technical comes with both SSC and PC. Usually, the notification for the first phase of the exam in February comes in December month.

Previously the AFCAT 2017 exam was held on February 25th, 2017. The notification published in December 2016. So one can expect the same for the upcoming AFCAT 2018 examination.

The second phase of AFCAT 2018 will be held in August or September. The notification falls in June month – Exam dates will be announce soon in 2018.

Here are some of the steps one must follow if you wish to apply for the examination. The application form is available on online from the Air Force Official Website.

Candidates who are eligible as per the requirements have to create an individual account to apply for the post.

What do you need to fill up the application form?

  • Academic Certificates
  • Recent Passport Size Photograph
  • Digital Signature(If applicable)
  • A government official Identity as proof(if asked)

The first phase of Air force exam 2018 conducted at offline centers.

The centers for the examinations will be notified a month before the test such that candidates will prepare their stay and accommodation on their own.

AFCAT 2018 conducted in multiple-choice questions format where you need to choose the right answer.

Selected students will shortlist for the second round screening.

This exam is one of the elite examinations conducted in India. Candidates must prepare very well as there is much competition present.

There are many previous year question papers on the web. Candidates must refer while preparing to get a brief detail on the examination pattern. Around 35 to 40 questions asked in every core section. 40 General Questions asked along with the core section.
